There may be changes ahead...

A short word on things that are not as alarming as the title suggests.

I'm listening to A Tribe Called Quest at the moment and have realised that A Tree In Bani is actually subconsciously named after my favourite group of all time. Weird how those things pan out, eh?

Anyway, I have a few updates to announce, short pieces before a bigger update coming very soon. I'm very aware of my lack of activity, but that doesn't mean I've left it for good. Oh no, not by a long shot...

Firstly, and most importantly I will be migrating the name of the website from Danny Obillo (.com) to A Tree In Bani (.com). The eagle eyed amongst you may have already noticed that this has already changed... I'll wait.... But yes, dannyobillo.com can still be used also, but from now on, atreeinbani.com will be the definitive domain address.

This marks a change of direction which I had always anticipated. Never did I want for my name to be front and centre, and truth be told, the last few months (since the website has been active) has been pretty uncomfortable for me having such a vainglorious site attached directly to my name. But, with the way of the world being what it is, I had to. For the algorithms to be be nice and sway my way and to get a nice foundation of followers it had to be done.

The change in website direction (taking effect from March 2021) will also herald the arrival of a new material and prepare us for more of a community vibe, rather than a plain. THISISMECLICKONME.com type of website.

Updates include:

  • KAZUMPH! A children's book collab with the very talented Dione Kong (have a look for yourself!)

  • TEARDROPS ON THE LEA - a digital compilation of short stories based on London

  • Kindle versions of all, including The Philosopher Joel

  • A second edition of Philosopher Joel on paperback

  • Another project before Christmas 2021

  • Plans with you lovely collaborators, loads of lovely planny plans!

I'm now aware that this is a somewhat long blog post. Oops.
